NANJEMOY, Md. (AP) — A canoe capsized, killing a man who police say wasn’t wearing a life jacket.
Maryland Natural Resources Police said in a series of tweets that 50-year-old William Hayes of Indian Head was taken to a hospital after the accident Saturday morning on the Potomac River near Mallows Bay in southern Maryland.
He was pronounced dead at Civista Medical Center in La Plata.
